J.B. O Reilleys is arguably the closest thing to a genuine Irish pub in Australia outside of Ireland.
No brown painted polystyrene beams and fake pub signs or tacky imitation antiques to be found here. Only the real, curious and quirky, and that’s just the staff.
Growing up in the Emerald Isle, Paul, its colourful owner, always dreamed of running his own pub and started collecting pub memorabilia when he was just a boy, stockpiling a hoard to one day furnish his fantasy. After moving to Australia he got his wish, creating what would become the legendary J.B. O Rielleys “eatin & drinkin emporium“.
The Brief
Located in leafy West Leederville the pub offers excellent beers, hearty modern cuisine and traditional Irish fare, catering for a truly diverse range of clientele from elite slick-suited, shiny-shoed professionals to furry, fluoro FIFOs in a unique atmosphere surrounded by world class antiques and curiosities. It’s the sort of place a lot of people come into just to see the interior. Locals are treated like family in true Irish tradition and new friends and families are welcomed with genuine warmth and good humour, a rare thing in these days of cookie-cut, thinly laminated hospitality clones.
The pub is famous. Footage of its St Patricks day celebrations are frequently shown on mainstream Irish news channels as well as local television reports. It has employed countless Irish travellers over the decades and become a permanent place of work to a few.
As long term patrons we were asked to create a new website that reflected the pubs character, showed off the decor, and of course, functioned as a vibrant user friendly interface to the public.
To showcase the pub's considerable charms we engaged a professional photographer to shoot the delicious food and beverages whilst also taking in much of the unusual decor.
This took a few shoots as there was a lot of ground to cover. We created a fitting design with a distinctly Irish feel and touch of cheek.
Added to this is a fly-through video, a calendar of events, newsletter facility and all the bells and whistles you may expect from such a salubrious establishment.
All of this is supported by a strong SEO platform and easy to use CMS for staff web updates, menu changes and the like.
