Cheesebuddy
Cheesebuddy Packaging
Cheesebuddy make Pão de queijo, a traditional Brazilian cheese bread. After arriving from Brazil in 2009, they established themselves with a passion to bring the Brazilian bread to the Australian table. From humble beginnings as a localised enterprise, they have now grown considerably, being distributed through several large outlets across Australia, including CostCo, Coles, Woolworths, Farmer Jacks and IGA.
The Brief
Having worked with Flametree from the very early stages of their business growth, Cheesebuddy were happy with their brand and packaging, but knew they needed to update their look to keep themselves relevant and fresh if they were to successfully take their business to the next level. We were tasked with creating a whole new brand, which then guided the packaging redesign. The requirement was to reflect the qualities of the product. Being a traditional Brazilian food pitched as an easy, quick-to-make snack, we knew its presentation must also have a fun, simple and energetic look.
The project
Working closely with our client, we developed a brand mark that felt playful and modern, but also avoided an overly artificial look. The colours were something the client was particularly committed to, so we looked to make these colours work in harmony with the more natural style of the photographic elements. This demanded a balanced mix of bright and colourful with warm and natural. As a result, this product not only looks attractive, it also looks truly appetising.
