Rugby WA gave us a try

The brief was to design two separate publications containing their end of year final reviews, the wrap-up of the year's events and full programs for the grand final series. This was to feature tables listing all teams and matches over both male and female leagues in both junior and senior competitions. It was all required to be designed, printed and delivered inside two weeks.

So after accepting the challenge we set about figuring out how we were going to get all this over the line in less than a fortnight! There was little room for error with the looming deadline, so efficient collation and layout with minimal correction factors were essential if we were going to have a win.

Content was still being provided during the first week so we were forced to start without knowing the exact volume the documents would contain. Our designers worked feverishly to get the projects into shape and looking good whilst making sure all the information was user friendly for the clubs, officials, corporate sponsors and general public come the finals matches. 

The end results were two magazine format documents of 12 and 20 pages plus an electronic version of all the relevant crucial information. The game went right down to the wire with us finally delivering the printed job to a nervous but greatly relieved client on the Saturday of the first final. 

Proof of the old adage “you never know what’s possible until you TRY”.
